Outdoor Ed camp

On Wednesday the 17th of April Yr 11, Outdoor Education students embarked on a journey to hike to the summit of Mount Stirling. We departed Gisborne Secondary College at 9am and arrived at Mount Stirling at around 2pm.

On the first day, we hiked about 3 and a half hours uphill to the campsite we were staying at, then we made our dinner and sat inside the cabin where it was warm. On the second day, we woke up very early to get to the summit, and we were hiking from 9am until 2pm when we arrived at our second campsite. It was mostly downhill, but the first hour was uphill to the summit.

On the final day, we woke up early again and hiked back to our bus. It took about an hour to get back, and we departed Mount Stirling around 9.30am. We then arrived back at Gisborne Secondary College around 2pm. I would like to thank Ms Gordon and Mr Hogg for taking us on this amazing experience.
