Harmony Day

Friday 22/03/2024

Albanvale Primary school is lucky and proud to have such a diverse combination of backgrounds, languages and cultures represented in our school community. One way that we can celebrate our uniqueness together, is through Harmony Day.

Harmony Day will be celebrated on Friday, 22nd of March. This year’s theme is Everybody Belongs and celebrates multiculturism and diversity in our community. Students will be completing fun activities in the classroom, with activities exploring the different ways cultures celebrate.

At 2:00pm students will perform a welcome to country and introduce the Cultural Explosion incursion to the school. The Cultural Explosion incursion consists of performances based around Bollywood, Middle East and Indigenous Australia. We extend a warm invite to all families to attend to watch the performance, which will be held outside on the green turf area.

On the day, we encourage children to wear clothing significant to their culture or alternatively, the colour orange, as this colour represents Harmony. This is not a casual clothes day, and open toe shoes are not permitted.

Thank you,

The Enrichment Team.
