Parent Helpers Needed

Production

I am looking for some parent helpers in term 2 as we start to bring the details for production together. If you have a creative pinky finger then you are needed to help create props for our incredible production of 'Cinderella Rockerfella'.

Classroom Helpers

If you are interested to see what goes on in art class and don't mind getting your hands dirty, I would love to invite you to join me. If you can help for a session or 2 on a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday please email me for more information. All parent helpers must have a working with children card and have conducted our school volunteer training.

Foundation students continue to practice cutting skills to cut out the complex turtle shape. It's fantastic to see how much everyone has improved their accuracy and confidence to have a go and try their best. Students used sponges to print corals and seaweed in their background and chose how to position their turtle on their background for display.

To finish off the term, we read the story 'Where is the Green Sheep' by Mem Fox and designed our own sheep. Lots of colourful and creative sheep have been getting up to all sorts of adventures.

Year One and Two students conducted a leaf study, examining its shape and other features that make it unique. We drew it, explored its colours, measured its size and described what it feels and smells like. We are preparing for the change of seasons by painting an Autumn landscape using watercolour paints. We drew our simple Y trees and added autumn colours to our trees. Everyone is looking forward to painting the reflection next term.

Year Three and Four students have completed their stunning seascape collages. The finishing touches have come together to create a story of adventure in all sorts of weather. We finished the term looking at the landscapes of Jen Aranyi. She uses black and white line landscape drawings and contrasts this with stunning colourful skies that draw the eye in. Students experiment with combinations of colours and details they would like to include in their own landscapes.

Year Five and Six students have started drawing and assembling their chosen animal from their painted papers. They have patiently added the dot details in the background and decorations to add an illustrative quality to their work. All the pieces are coming together to help tell their story. Lots of photos to come next term as they complete these amazing art works.
