MATHEMATICS

It has been a busy term in Mathematics! Our big focus has been developing our knowledge and strategies to solve addition and subtraction equations. The students spent time learning the various strategies to solve addition and subtraction equations, and were encouraged to practice using each strategy until they found their favourite. The students then learnt about the connection between addition and subtraction (inverse equations) and how to use inverse equations to check their working out.

To finish off the term, we have begun exploring length and area. The students practiced correctly using a ruler to measure various items in the classroom! We learnt how to measure the area of square and rectangular shapes by counting 1cm squares. The students thoroughly enjoyed creating characters and calculating their area.

FOOD FIGHT FUN RUN

Well done to everyone who took part in the food fight fun run and congratulations to those who raised money to support Foodbank Victoria. 

Thank you for a wonderful term. We look forward to seeing the students again on Monday the 15th of April. Stay safe and we hope you all have a wonderful Easter break.
