Principal's Report

By Carolyn Serpell

Next week is Harmony Week, and parents are invited to join us on Tuesday afternoon, at 2.30pm,  for a special dance ceremony. Throughout the day, our students will be participating in dance and culture workshops with dance instructor, Sermsah Bin Saad. The workshops will reflect the tradition of story telling, through indigenous dance, conveying animals or cultural themes.  At the end of the day, each group will have the opportunity to perform their own ceremonial dance, as part of a final cermony.  We would love to share this experience with all our families and hope to see you there.

Volunteers needed!
Volunteers needed!

A reminder that next Friday is the Year 3-6 Cluster Athletics Carnival.  Thank you to those families who have already offered their support. More volunteers are still needed to assist with the running of events on the day and helping out with the bbq.  If you can help out for some or all of the time, please let us know.

Thanks to the support of our local community, we now have some new readers in the Early Years.  A big thank you to Belinda and Jude for their support in covering the readers, ready for the classroom.

Thank you also to two of our grandfathers for their role in putting together some new bench seats for our playground last week.  The seats were a lovely surprise for our students, and have been very popular.  A big thank you to Steve for taking on the construction and installation of the seats and also to Peter for his helping in preparing the timber, so it was fit for purpose! The seats are a welcome addition and are sure to be enjoyed for many years to come!
