Working Safely in the Construction Industry:

White Card Training at Endeavour

Students interested in a work experience placement in an area of trade, a trade base VET course, or interested in a career within a trade will need a White Card. It's an official document that certifies individuals who have completed general safety induction training, which covers topics such as identifying hazards and risks on site, correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and workplace health and safety legislation. Individuals must successfully complete this initial training before they can gain access to any building or construction site throughout Australia.

The White Card is also a short VET qualification that makes students eligible for accessing government funding for VET in Schools programs within Year 11 or 12. Students need to be at least 14 years of age and will require proof of identity, along with creating a USI if this has not already been done. This course is being run by a Registered Training Organisation that the school has used before and the cost is $125. This will be charged to families.

We are offering the White Card Training here at the College on Monday, April 15 commencing at 9.00am and finishing at 4:00pm.

Please let me know if you would like to undertake this course. We do need a minimum number of students to have the course at the College.

Please contact me at your earliest convenience if your child has expressed interest in undertaking this training. Registered interest in the course needs to be communicated to the training provider prior to 5:00pm on Tuesday, 26 March.

If you have any further questions, please contact me via email.
