Around the College

Open Day

On Sunday, March 17, Endeavour was a hive of activity with our biggest Open Day yet.

A special thank you to all student ambassadors for taking time out of their weekend to help showcase the College. As always, the best feedback was reserved for our students, regardless of the role they played. Prospective parents appreciate being led around the College by students, interacting with students helping within faculty areas and classrooms and being greeted and farewelled by student ushers. Hearing about Endeavour from a student's perspective is an authentic and powerful message to convey.

Thank you to all for playing a part in the day, we couldn't do it without you!

Among one of the many highlights of the event was Digital Technologies student representative, Joshua Mann, eagerly shared his personal journey in coding and the myriad of opportunities and pathways it presents. Guests also had the opportunity to experience the VR and AR Technologies here at the College within the Discovery Centre.

Another highlight was walking the hive of activity found within the Food Technology classrooms. From learning healthy eating facts to picking vegetables to take home, making biscuits and eating freshly made sausage rolls it really was a treat.

Harmony Week

Harmony Week began on Monday with various, exciting activities planned for each day. Throughout the week we had a shared cultural music playlist playing in the Mall during lunch, with songs that were all nominated by students. Activities planned for the week were very successful. The arrival of the Sundai Kofu exchange students from Japan coincided perfectly with the week, as well as our activity on Tuesday, a Japanese calligraphy workshop.

Endeavour students were able to write their name in Japanese using special calligraphy materials and techniques, whilst connecting with the exchange students to learn more about their culture.

On Wednesday German cultural activities were run by the Languages Faculty outside by the ANZAC Pavilion, allowing students to compete against each other in some traditional German games and win some great prizes (chocolate!).

Finally, we ended the week with our

non-uniform day on Thursday, where proceeds from the gold coin donation will go towards the MATW Project, a charity dedicated to providing humanitarian relief in Palestine.

It was great to see so many students wearing their cultural dress to school with pride and sharing this part of their identity with each other.

On Thursday lunch time, we had an international fashion runway happening in the Mall to showcase all this cultural clothing - an event which produced many great photos! Overall, participation from the student body in the activities this week has been invigorating for us as part of the student body and College culture. It was amazing to see the display of and appreciation for all the different cultures which constitute our diverse community.

We cannot wait to see what the next cultural leaders will organise for Harmony Week in 2025!
