From the Leadership Team
I was reminded at last Sunday’s Open Day how big the Endeavour College community actually is.
As over 230 prospective people filled Plaza 1, Senior Years Centre for the Principal’s Address, it dawned on me that the College community is built around past students and families, current students and families and, of course, future students and families. And with 26 years of history, that ends up being a lot of people.
There have been several events already for our community to come in and get to know staff and each other. The atmosphere at the Year 7 Family Picnic was just lovely; staff mingling with new families and parents talking with other parents; starting their journey as a parent of a high schooler together.
Of course, there are more formal opportunities to connect with each other that are also approaching. Learning Conversations are a brilliant way to meet your child’s teachers and discuss their learning strengths as well as areas for growth in each of their learning areas.
They are also a great opportunity to see other families and catch up with each other!
Early in Term 2, you will have an opportunity to hear your child reflect on themselves as a learner. These are powerful conversations and, with the support of their Care Group Teacher, have the potential to reveal so much about your child and their journey with key learning attributes. Whether it is a music event, a Voyage evening or a Learning Conversation, opportunities to visit the College help to shape our community, show your child that you care about them and their learning, and support positive relationships with those involved in their time at the College.
Whatever the event, I can’t wait to see you there as we journey together as a community.
