Principal's News

Where every child is known, challenged and supported to be lifelong learners.

Dear Parents and Friends of St Brigid’s,

Celebration of Learning

What an amazing afternoon our students had showcasing their sensational work to their parents on Monday. The students were so proud to explain to parents and other classes the work they have been doing over Term 1. What a lovely way for the children to be acknowledged. Thank you to all the parents who came to not only look at their children's work but also went and checked the work of other year levels.

Swimming Team

A really big apology to the swimming team who I did not acknowledge in the newsletter. The team got up early to train together and then meet at school for breakfast. They did such a wonderful job swimming to the very best of their abilities and cheering each other on!

Cross Country

Wow! What an amazing day we had at the whole school Cross Country. It was great to see all the students all together, cheering each other on. Congratulations to everyone for participating in Cross Country. Aussie of the Month

Max O - 6K

Max is a very responsible Year 6 Leader.  He was the first to engage with the leaders of St Louis at our leadership day and mixed well with a range of peers from both schools throughout the day.  Max is very mature and responsible. Well done Max on being our April Aussie of the Month.

Easter

What a lovely start to our last day of school with an Easter Bonnet Parade.  The children (and staff) looked so good.

I have to say a big thank you to Jodie and the children for the beautiful Holy Week Liturgies. The children have been so reverent and respectful, which is so lovely to see.

Hot Cross Buns

Thank you to the Social Squad for organising our annual Hot Cross Bun drive.  We sold 114 1/2 dozen packets which raised $342.00 for the school.  What a great effort.  Enjoy your Hot Cross Buns everyone.

Winter Uniform

Term Two sees a change to our Winter Uniform.

We will have a two week period to transition from summer to winter for the first two weeks of Term 2.  We ask that you not mix the two.

The PSW Uniform Shop - 1 Age Street, Cheltenham will be open over the holidays. Please note girls winter tunics and skirts are not available at PSW.  They can be ordered online via CDF online.  See Tracey regarding sizes when school returns.  We are still selling a few other items via CDFpay - winter beanies, school hats, St Brigid's sports socks and girls winter tunics and skirts.  Our winter beanies are great for the colder months and cost $15.00. Now that we have a St Brigid's beanie, no other beanies can be worn at school.   Click here for the link to CDFpay.

Also a reminder to our Foundation to Year 4 families - your children will be in their sports uniform for the first 8 days of Term 2 as swimming will be taking place.

BOYS:

If your child does not like to wear pants, we do allow them to wear shorts all year around. Shorts/pants are to be worn with St Brigid's Polo (long or short sleeved).

GIRLS:

The girls winter uniform offers a choice of winter tunic or skirt to be worn with a white shirt or navy pants or navy skort to be worn with St Brigid's Polo (long or short sleeved).

SPORTS:

Summer Sport polo top or long sleeved polo, jumper/jacket, shorts/ skort /navy tracksuit pants.  Please note that the sports polo tops are not offered in long sleeved.

Reminder - Hair: All hair below the collar must be tied back. This is for both boys and girls. This is also part of our uniform policy.

Thank you for your support in this matter. Wearing our uniform  correctly demonstrates to us that we are proud members of the St Brigid’s community.
