End of Term 1 Events

 

Friday 15th March - St Patrick’s Day at Galilee

Students are to wear green on the day. Students will participate in a range of activities including Gaelic Football, Irish dancing, cooking soda bread, culture and crafts.

 

Due to the St. Patrick’s Day celebrations, School Assembly has been cancelled on Friday March 15th.

 

Monday 18th March - School Photos & No Running Club

Students are to wear their full summer uniform on Monday 18th March for School Photos. If you would like to order photos the link is in the Newsletter.

 

Running Club has been cancelled on Monday 18th March so that the photographers can set up for school photos. 

 

Tuesday 19th March - Year 1-6 Parent Teacher Interviews

On Tuesday 19th March, parents of students in Year 1-6 will have the opportunity to meet with their child's classroom teacher for a 10 minute interview. These scheduled interviews will provide an opportunity for a discussion about student achievement, student progress, behaviour and work habits, areas of future growth and ways students will be supported at school and may be supported at home. The purpose is to create a stronger partnership between home and school and ensure that families are on the same page as teachers and can work in a collaborative way to support student learning.

 

Parent Teacher Interview will take place in the library and parents can go directly to the library to wait to see the teacher.

 

Tuesday 19th March will be a normal school day for students with a normal finishing time.

 

Thursday 21st March - Harmony Day at Galilee

On Thursday 21st March students are encouraged to come to school wearing something that represents their cultural heritage or the colour orange (the colour of Harmony Day). 

 

Friday 22nd March - Whole School Cross Country

Students will be bussed to Murphy Reserve, Port Melbourne, between 9am and 1.30pm for Cross Country races in year levels. Older students do a 3km lap, younger students do a smaller approximately 1 km lap. 

 

Friday 28th March - Last Day of Term 1, Students finish at 1.15pm, Colour Spectacular from 1.30pm

Students finish at 1.15pm and will be picked up from their classroom. Children of those families returning for the colour run are encouraged to wear a white t-shirt and casual shorts/tracksuit pants to school on Thursday 28th March so that they can participate in the colour run that is happening after school finishes. The colour run starts at 1.30pm. Parental supervision is required.
