Principal's Message

Mrs Belinda Hall - Relieving Principal

Thank you for welcoming me to the role of Relieving Principal. I have been a part of the Roselea executive team since 2012 and have proudly seen the school grow and thrive over the years. It will be a privilege to work alongside the community to continue the amazing work currently in place and to support the immersive space project through to completion.

Staffing

While Mr Jones is on leave, there are a few changes to the staffing of the school during Term 2. These changes will ensure the smooth running of the school and the various programs we have in place. As I relieve as principal, Mr Andrew Chong will be in the role of Assistant Principal Curriculum and Instruction, which is an off-class position. Mrs Clare Son will be the class teacher for 5C and Mr Andrew Love the Stage 3 Assistant Principal.

ANZAC Day

Our ANZAC Day service is next Monday 8 April at 9.30am. This is a notable event which commemorates the service of military personnel. As we have quite a few of our parents currently serving, this day holds increased significance in our community. Following the service there will be morning tea in the hall. All community members are welcomed and encouraged to attend.

Parent Workshop Survey

Thank you to all the parents who completed the survey last week. We value your input in designing engaging sessions that cater to your interests and empower our whole school community. If you have not already done so, please complete the form so we can best tailor our workshops to your preferences. https://forms.gle/cum9sQE71vRrgpKV6

Recent events

There have been several events recently to showcase the talent and diversity within our school. Thursday March 21 was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate our cultures and differences, being Harmony Day, National Close the Gap Day and the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination. Thank you to all the parents and students who dressed in their traditional clothing or orange attire. The highlights of the day were hearing students express their cultural history in their different languages and the beautiful singing of I am Australian lead by Audrey and Madison. Thank you Mrs Dong, Mrs Khastgir and Mrs Son for organising the event. The talent of our students continued to shine at the Band Camp concert. We are so proud of the effort and improvement of all our band students and were blown away by the performances. Thank you to all the parents who were involved in organising the weekend, especially the band committee led by Fallon and Joel. Seeing all the smiling faces of our K-2 students parading in their Easter Hats, cheered on by their buddy classes that helped make the hats, was a fantastic way to lead into the Easter long weekend.

The last day of this term will be on Friday April 12. I wish everyone a restful holiday and look forward to seeing everyone when school returns Tuesday April 30.
