RSC Sprint Meet- Thank you!

Once again we had another successful meet on Sunday, and we couldn't have done it without the help of our amazing RSC parent volunteers. Thank you to the parents, grandparents, and swimmers that all chipped in and worked together to create such a fun, inviting and smooth event. Even with our technology glitches at the start, it looked like all swimmers had a great time, as did the visiting clubs, their swimmers and their families.
Our 4 four big meets are a chance for us to all work together to host an amazing event for our members and other clubs from Melbourne and across Victoria. It’s a lot of work but it’s something our swimmers can be proud of and will create long lasting memories.
The sprint meet is always a fast paced event, and our marshalling team had it running like a well oiled machine. A massive shout out to our first time marshalling parents, who embraced the role and handled it with poise, patience and a positive attitude. We appreciate you so much- thank you for your hard work.
Our Officials were amazing as always. It is hard to get officials at this time of year, with so many meets on, and Christmas approaching. We are so lucky to have Officials that always support us at RSC, even if it means missing time with their own family during the festive season to help us at our meet.
A big shout out to our Competitions Officer, Miek, announcer Sean, our runner Vincent, and chief timekeeper Brett. Due to the technical difficulties, their roles were so important on Sunday and the meet wouldn't have run as smoothly as it did without their hard work. What our Competitions Officer Miek does with Meet Mobile and our timekeeping system in the background is nothing short of amazing. It was especially challenging on Sunday, but his cool, calm and collected nature shone through- thank you Miek!
Another big thank you to Jackie and the team on the raffle, lucky envelopes and BBQ. The lucky envelopes sold out, and the BBQ was popular as usual. We raised $1651 in fundraising on Sunday which is incredible for a shorter meet. Our winners were so thrilled with their prizes, and 3 out of our 4 winners were RSC families! We love that!! Big Congrats to the Zheng Family who won 2nd and 4th prize!!
Thank you to Jess for catering and ensuring our officials, volunteers and timekeepers were well fed at all times. Thank you to Selina and Vivian on the medals table, and Nicole for our social media posts and fabulous raffle flyers. A massive thank you to all of our volunteer timekeepers- without you our meets can't happen- we appreciate your efforts so much.
A special shout out to Neil, for taking professional photos for us on Sunday. Neil doesn't have a swimmer at RSC, so for him to give us his time and expertise for nothing in return is amazing, we are so thankful. You can see some of his photos on the next page.
Thank you to the swimmers that didn't compete, but came to assist and support. It shows incredible team spirit and we are so thankful to you for your assistance.
Thank you to our wonderful coaches, for supporting our swimmers and providing guidance and feedback during the meet.
The RSC Committee hopes you all have the most amazing Christmas, New Year, and a restful break from swimming. We look forward to another fantastic year of RSC meets in 2025.
