3/4 Learning Community

The 3/4 Learning Community have hit the ground running with many exciting activities already happening. The teachers have been working hard setting up new routines and learning spaces and it is looking fantastic. Using our Berry Street model all the classes have set Wellbeing displays based around our students strengths. 

Literacy

The students have commenced the Spell Ex program, a phonics based program designed to improve spelling and grammar. We have also started our Novel Study of the Roahl Dahl classic, Matilda. 

Maths

We have been working on a place value unit to start the term. The students have been working with 6-digit numbers and partitioning in standard and non-standard form. We also completed Place Value flowers of numbers of choice.

Inquiry

Our inquiry unit is looking at different cultures and we started by creating our own class Acknowledgment of Country. The students researched and had a go at writing one in small groups before collaborating with the whole class to combine ideas and have a shared acknowledgement.
