Relieving Principal's Report
Ms Maturana
Dear Parents/ Carers,
Happy Week 8 to all our Fairvale Public School families,
There are only 8 school days to go, and jam packed with exciting events-assemblies, Principal morning tea, Year 6 farewell, attendance and class rewards, distribution of reports and packing up classrooms.
2025 BACK TO SCHOOL- In 2025, our first day back at school (Thursday 6 February 2025), all students will begin in their new classrooms. I will send out more information in our last newsletter for 2024.
FVPS FAREWELLS- As the term concludes, we farewell the following staff members:
We wish them all the best on their new adventure, and I know that the community thank them for their hard work and service to Fairvale Public School. They will be missed!
FAIR DAY- Thank you to Ms Tram and her team of teacher who organised the FAIR Day. The students had a wonderful day, rotating around to various sporting activities and more importantly having fun soaking each other with water. It was the perfect day to have water-based activities and one of the highlights of the year.
CONGRATULATIONS- to Ms Jodie O’Connor who was successfully appointed to the School Administration Manager (SAM) position in the front office. Jodie comes with a passion to support student, teachers and our families and will be highly supported as she transitions into the role.
Mrs Dani Forrest will also join the FVPS team in 2025 as the Relieving Assistant Principal. Mrs Forest has worked across various schools in South- West Sydney and comes with a wealth of experience and knowledge on how to best support student learning. We look forward to welcoming her to the team in the new year.
Ensure that we use this weekend to rest, organise and ensure our uniform are clean for our special assemblies. Let’s prepare for an exciting week ahead!
School Bytes: In 2025, we will begin the process of transitioning all school payments, information ( e.g. school notes) and reports to be processed and publised through School Bytes. This is an easy and effective app, that allows parents to respond or pay at your convenience. A bonus feature is that it allows information to be translated in your preferred language. We will provide more information in the coming year but we ask that if you are not connected to School Bytes to come to the office or speak to our Community Liaison Officers- Mrs Samira or Mrs Michelle and they can assist.
A big congratulations to Kim Nguyen from Year 6 who has been successful in having her artwork titled ' Learning Together' been chosen to be part of the DoE 2025 Calendar for Cultural diversity. This is a big achievement and the hard work, time and effort she has put in to produce a quality artwork should be commended. I am sure this is will not be the last time we still Kim's artwork on display!
Have a great fortnight,
Pia Maturana
