Year 11 and 12

As our 2024 school year comes to end, we look back on all the wonderful experiences that our Year 11 and 12 students have enjoyed. The events, excursions, days of celebration and strong relationships forged between students and their teachers leave us with many fond and happy memories.

On 19th December, our high achieving Year 12 students and their families joined us for a morning tea to celebrate the VCE results of 2024. It was lovely to hear of their excitement for their future plans, and recognise their endeavour over the course of their time at Sunbury College.

Our Careers and Pathways team continue to work with all Year 12 students to confirm pathways for 2025, and we’re thrilled to see such a high percentage of our students leave Sunbury College with clear plans in place for their future.

During our Headstart program, the Year 11 students of 2024 moved into their future Year 12 classes to begin the program of study for Unit 3. Their commitment to preparing themselves for success in 2025 was evident in the excellent attendance across the two weeks, and the dedication to completing learning tasks and beginning a program of independent study,

As many of you know, Chris Fellows, our Year 11 Coordinator for many years, will be leaving us at the end of the year for some well-earned leave prior to his retirement. The impact that Chris has had on the students and families of Sunbury College in his many years as a staff member, cannot be overstated. His unwavering support, guidance and compassion have touched the lives of many students and their families.

We are excited to announce that the 2025 Senior School team is growing in 2025:

I will continue in my role as Senior Sub School Leader.Current VCE teachers Sally Tymensen and Kylie Smith will step into the role of Year 12 coordinators. Current Year 7 coordinator, Tom Payne, is moving to the Senior School team as a Year 11 coordinator and will work alongside new member of staff, Hannah Ryan. Hannah has many years of experience as a VCE teacher and Year 11 coordinator.

As well as supporting students through their final two years of their secondary school journey, we will all be teaching VCE and VCE VM classes.

I would like to thank our all staff for their support of the Senior School students this year, with special thanks to Chris in his role, Sharee Ainsworth as our Senior School Assistant, and to Fiona Scott-Young as the Assistant Principal overseeing the Year 11 and 12 students.

2025 looks set to be another fantastic year for us!

Enjoy your break,

Sarah Heath, on behalf of the Senior Sub School team
