Year 9 and 10

With the school year coming to a close, it is important to acknowledge the strong showing of school values during the busy Headstart period.

Middle School students showed great passion and endeavour working in their new classes and taking on the new responsibilities and challenges that are presented with moving into their future classes. It was wonderful to hear the excitement from students as they realised what opportunities and foci await them in 2025.

As you enjoy your break and rest, please keep in mind that the start of 2025 is important to prepare for. Students moving into Years 10 & 11 have homework assigned to them to complete prior to the start of 2025. We encourage all students to reflect on their Headstart learning and ensure they are prepared for all of their 2025 classes.

We are excited to announce that the 2025 Middle School team is changing for next year.

Megan Fitzgerald will step back from coordination for 2025 as she enjoys some well-earned long service leave, but she assures us that she will continue to visit us and the sub school office throughout the year.

Christine Polonidis will step into the role of Year 10 coordinator, and is keen to continue her work with the current cohort she has worked closely with this year. We are extremely excited to see this group grow in 2025 and can't wait to celebrate all of their achievements throughout the year. 

Rachel Harris and Tugba Erkou will lead the Year 9 cohort in 2025. Tugba has worked very closely with this group in 2024 as the Year 8 coordinator. We are very lucky to have her join our team and continue working with the students that she knows so well. Rachel joined the coordination team earlier this term, and will be an integral part of the Middle School team in 2025. She brings a wealth of teaching and student management experience from both Australia and the United Kingdom. 

I will continue as the Middle School Engagement and Wellbeing Leader, working alongside Assistant Principal, Becky Annetts.

We look forward to students returning on 30th January ready for 2025.
