Principals Message
Dear parents and carers,
What a year we have had learning, laughing and loving. Monday’s final Assembly recognised student achievement, generosity and kindness. Thank you for your support and your desire to work with us to increase the faith, learning and wellbeing outcomes for the children.
Earlier this year, following an incident with their child, I listened to two parents speak about how all they want is for their child to be strong, upstanding, kind and confident. They expressed their sadness that some students tear others down by being mean. At no time did the parents want retribution, or to know what the consequences might be for others involved. They spoke with understanding of the other students and commented on how challenging it can be at times to support and advise children.
The discussion was exactly how it should be between the school and families, respectful and calm and supportive. I look forward to more of these in 2025.
In 2025 Mrs Herden will be working at Sacred Heart Boggabri as the Leader of Pedagogy. This is an opportunity for Leanne to learn new knowledge and skills and in turn implement her strong leadership skills to the Boggy team. Next year we will announce who will be doing the roles of Assistant Principal and Maths Specialist Teacher at St Xavier’s. I wish Mrs Herden the very best for 2025. We will miss her greatly.
We have been given a position of a second Assistant Principal due to our school size. It is with pleasure that Malcolm Frend has accepted this position and we are excited to welcome Mal back to SXG. He will work alongside Leanne’s replacement and the leadership team to continue our commitment to our students to be literate and numerate for a hope filled future.
The staff at SXG are exceptional and I am so deeply appreciative of what they do every day. We have an amazing school and the best kids in the northwest! Enjoy your time with family over Christmas and stay safe.
God Bless all families,
Jen
