Year 7 to Year 9

Year 9 Students shine in Electrical Safety Presentations for Year 4 Classes

Last week, our Year 9 students took on the important role of educators as they delivered engaging and informative presentations about electrical safety to the Year 4 classes. The initiative aimed to empower younger students with knowledge about staying safe around electricity, while also giving the Year 9s the opportunity to showcase their creativity and leadership skills.

The presentations were varied and dynamic, ensuring the Year 4 students remained captivated throughout the sessions. Highlights included electric shock role plays, where Year 9s demonstrated the correct and safe techniques to assist someone in need, fostering a hands-on understanding of emergency procedures.

Adding to the excitement, interactive games focused on electrical safety allowed Year 4 students to test their knowledge in a fun and playful way. Word searches and crossword puzzles reinforced key concepts, while providing an enjoyable challenge for the young learners.

The centrepiece of the presentations was a brilliant diorama depicting safety measures within a household. This creative display served as a visual guide to identify potential hazards and illustrated best practices for keeping safe around electricity at home.

Both Year 9 and Year 4 students walked away from the experience with new insights and a shared sense of accomplishment. The initiative not only strengthened the Year 4s’ understanding of electrical safety but also provided the Year 9s with a platform to develop their communication and collaboration skills.

Congratulations to all the students involved for their hard work, enthusiasm, and dedication to promoting safety in our community.

This was truly a wonderful example of learning, leadership, and creativity in action!

Dear Parents and Caregivers,

What an incredible year we’ve had, capped off with a final week filled with engagement, fun, and well-deserved recognition for our students' fantastic achievements!

This week alone has been a standout:

  • Secondary Presentation Evening: Ms. Burrows and her team once again delivered a phenomenal Presentation Evening for our secondary students. After months of dedication, starting with rehearsals for our talented dancers earlier in the year, the event culminated in a memorable night on Tuesday. The professionalism and hard work shone through, leaving parents and caregivers brimming with pride.
  • Thanksgiving Mass: On Wednesday, Fr. Grant led a beautiful Thanksgiving Mass in the CAS, where 318 secondary students gathered with reverence and respect. For some of our new students, this was their first Mass experience, and it served as a meaningful way to reflect on and give thanks for the year.
  • Middle School Water Park Fun: Thanks to the leadership of Mr. Stone and the Year Coordinators, our Middle School students enjoyed a fantastic day at the water park on Thursday. Year groups rotated throughout the day, returning with smiles and fun-filled stories. A huge thanks to the staff for making this memorable experience possible.
