Mission & Faith Life
First Week of Advent
"The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light;
those who dwelt in a land of deep darkness, on them has light shined." (Isaiah 9:2)
Sunday 1 December signifies the beginning of the new liturgical year for the Catholic Church, beginning with the Liturgical Season of Advent - a time of expectant waiting, hopeful anticipation, cheerful preparation and prayer for the coming of our Saviour Jesus Christ!
Advent wreaths and calendars are used to count down the weeks and days until the arrival of baby Jesus in Bethlehem.
Prayer for the First Sunday of Advent
Dear Jesus,
you are the HOPE
in our messy world.
This Advent, help us slow down,
listen to your voice,
and focus on what’s really important.
We place our HOPE in you
as we prepare our hearts to celebrate
your birth on Christmas.
Amen.

Thanksgiving Liturgy
This week we celebrated our end of year Thanksgiving Mass and Liturgy to express gratitude for all the blessings our school has received over the year. Thank you to Fr Grant for presiding and to the students who volunteered to help with the liturgy.
Thank you also to representatives Cindy and Ray from the St Vincent de Paul Society - Armadale Conference, for celebrating our liturgies with us and collecting our SVDP Christmas Appeal donations.
St Vincent de Paul Christmas Appeal
Restoring hope and share the joy this Christmas!
Thank you to all our students and teachers for your donations to the St Vincent De Paul Christmas Appeal. Thanks to our communities generosity, lots of children across WA will receive thoughtful Christmas gifts this year.
Thank you also to Mrs Merry and her wonderful cooking students who have prepared meals during Week 8 and Week 9 for Wandjoo Bidi, a St Vincent de Paul supported accommodation service.
Heart of Salvado
Thank you again to members of our College community who participated in our inaugural Heart of Salvado Outreach Program. Thank you for your wonderful Christmas gifts for the students at John Pujajangka-Piyirn Catholic School in Mulan in the Kimberly. The presents have all arrived safely after a long journey!
Michael Patrick, the principal of JPPCS, wholeheartedly thanks our College community for the thoughtfulness and generosity. We look forward to continuing to develop this friendship between our schools in the new year.
Schoenstatt New Year's Eve Celebration
Merry Christmas!
We wish all of our Salvado Catholic College community a safe, happy and Holy Christmas!
Let us turn our eyes to Bethlehem, and listen to the first faint cries of the Prince of Peace. For truly Jesus is our peace. The peace that the world cannot give,
the peace that God the Father has bestowed on humanity by sending his Son into the world.
