Reports Shared Today

Each semester we share our student reports via our Parent Portal. As informed in an Operoo the Parent portal has moved to an App that is accessible via your phone. Today your child's report has been shared via the portal app. Please check that you have access to your child's Semester 2 report before Wednesday Dec 18th. If you are having issues please contact the office. If we do not hear from you before Wednesday Dec 18th we will not be able to share your child report until the new year.

Thank you for your support and have a fantastic break.

Avoiding the Summer Slide!

Learning is for Life

"The summer slide" is the term given to children's educational gains evaporating during the summer holidays. While Christmas and Summer holidays are a great time to reconnect as a family and enjoy the amazing place we live,  there is no doubt that five or six weeks of summer holidays without stimulating our children's brains are not going to do them any favours when they return to school.

So how do you keep your child learning, without overwhelming them and giving them time to relax, over the summer break? The key is moderation and fun! There are many learning activities that children will naturally gravitate to when they are playing, relaxing or just need some downtime. You can also encourage your child to engage in the holiday learning packs teachers are sending home this week.

For students to retain the skills they have learned in school they must revisit or practice them over a number of weeks and sometimes months. To avoid this slide over the break we are encouraging all students to continue to be learners and keep practicing their basic skills while they are away from school. This week teachers will be sharing home learning ideas for all students. These will be targeted at your child’s learning level and support them to embed their learning. We ask that you support them to complete their Reading, Writing or Number challenges at least 3 times a week. We thank you for your support and look forward to seeing all of their learning in 2025.
