Last week a selection of our Year 3/4 and 5/6 students represented DCS at the North West Primary School Sports Association (NWPPSA) Athletics Carnival in Penguin. Each of the days were full of excitement, enthusiasm and encouragement where students were able to cheer each other on.
Year 5/6 Student Report:
On Thursday 6th March we went to Penguin to run for our school. When we got to Penguin, we got off the bus and walked to the stand where we stayed to rest after our races. When we got to Penguin, we were all given stickers to put on our shirts to give to the placers that get our scores after we run. We all got amazing scores and most of us got really good places. When we finished our own races, we cheered on DCS when they were running, or we went to the canteen and got icy poles to cool us down. It was the hottest running day I have ever had at Penguin.

My favourite song is Sweet Dreams by the Eurythmics.
Running the City2Surf in an astronaut costume and gumboots is my greatest accomplishment.
My favourite place in Tasmania is Turners Beach.
When I was in Kinder my favourite activity was playing teachers with a blackboard and pretending teddies were the students.
If I could choose a superpower it would be teleportation so I could travel anywhere at any time.
If I could be friends with someone in the old testament I would chose Moses because I admire his bravery and trust in God.
Mrs Lenise Copas
My favourite songs are In Christ Alone and You Raise Me Up.
One of my accomplishments would be creating a 1 acre landscaped garden from a bare paddock!
My favourite place is Boat Harbour, I love the colour of that turquoise water.
Favourite Kinder activity is easel painting.
If I could choose a superpower I would choose to be able to fly. It would be great to have a bird’s eye perspective!
If I could choose an Old Testament friend I would choose Adam – I would have something to say to him! Ha, ha!
My childhood dream was to teach Kindergarten. I used to line up my dolls and teach them and then I taught my Italian neighbour to speak English (we were in Year 2 I think)!
Miss Rachel Badcock
My favourite music is the sounds of nature.
My greatest accomplishment is being a mum to my daughter Sophie.
My favourite place in Tasmania is Sisters Beach.
When I was in Kinder my favourite activity was art.
My super power if I could choose would be love.
If I could be friends with someone in the Old Testament it would be Noah. He was obedient in faith even when everyone else wasn't, he didn't lose his faith and I would like to know what the earth was like before the flood.
When I was a child I wanted to be Wonder Woman and my childhood dream job was to be a ballerina.
Mrs Colleen Duggett
At the moment, my favourite song is That's Who I Praise by Brandon Lake.
My greatest accomplishment is becoming a mum.
My favourite place in Tasmania is Cradle Mountain.
As a little girl, I always enjoyed being creative and I dreamed of being a chef.
If I could choose any superpower, it would be teleportation so I could visit my family in South Africa and travel the world.
If I could be friends with someone from the Old Testament, it would be King Solomon. I think he would offer profound wisdom.
A fun fact about me I love photography and before becoming a mum I had my own freelance photography business.
