Our school wellbeing program promotes mental health, emotional intelligence, and social skills, helping students manage stress, build confidence, and develop strong relationships.
On 5 March, the Senior School participated in the first Wellbeing Day of 2025 - a dedicated opportunity for students to strengthen relationships while learning from experts in wellbeing, academic success, personal growth, and safety.
Year 7 and 8 students explored personal growth and development, focusing on building strong relationships and setting healthy boundaries. Year 8 girls began the day reflecting on the impact of labels—how they can strengthen or damage connections—and discussing the differences between inclusion, belonging, and fitting in. They also explored the various relationships they experience at school, from friendships and classmates to teammates and peers, and considered strategies for navigating the changes that come with adolescence. Encouraged to reflect on their own relationships, they set personal goals for improvement and ended the session by sharing daily acts of kindness that contribute to a more inclusive and supportive school community where everyone feels a true sense of belonging.
Year 9 boys spent the day with Jack Ellis from Good Fellas, who delivered an evidence-based program equipping them with the skills to connect, build meaningful relationships, and advocate for themselves and their peers. Meanwhile, Year 9 girls engaged in an inspiring session with Danielle Miller from Enlighten Education, where they developed strategies for setting personal boundaries, valuing positive peer connections, finding their voice and practicing gratitude.
For students in Years 10, 11, and 12, the focus was on unlocking their potential in the classroom. Potentia Mentis delivered an engaging cognitive performance and academic potential workshop, offering mini sessions on study techniques, motivation, information retrieval, and effective learning strategies for both classwork and independent study. These students also had the opportunity to hear from Senior Constable Jane Heffernan and Brent Sanders, who led insightful discussions on personal safety, relevant legal considerations, and making smart, informed decisions.
A huge thank you to all our presenters for sharing their time, knowledge, and expertise with our students. Wellbeing Day was a valuable opportunity for reflection, growth, and learning, and we look forward to continuing to support our students in developing resilience, strong relationships, and lifelong skills for success.
