From the Head of Senior School
Mr Trent Chapman
This week, our Year 7 and Year 9 students undertook their NAPLAN exams, an important nationwide assessment that provides valuable insights into student learning and progress. Administering these online assessments is a significant undertaking, requiring careful coordination, technical support, and a calm, supportive environment for our students.
I extend my sincere appreciation to Mrs Michelle Thompson, Academic Administrator, and her dedicated team of academic staff and IT support personnel for their exceptional efforts in ensuring the smooth and efficient delivery of the exams.
NAPLAN can be a challenging time for students, and the reassuring presence of our staff—whether through logistical coordination, technical assistance, or simply offering words of encouragement—has been invaluable. Thank you to everyone involved for your professionalism, teamwork, and care in supporting our students through this process.
Last Wednesday, 5 March, the Senior School came together for a highly successful Wellbeing Day, focusing on key skills such as responsible decision-making, positive peer relationships, cyber security, self-awareness, self-management, and conflict resolution. Students were fully engaged in a diverse range of workshops and activities, demonstrating outstanding enthusiasm and conduct throughout the day.
Students participated in a range of hands-on activities designed to promote personal growth and resilience. The day was further enriched by a number of high-quality guest speakers who shared valuable insights on wellbeing, mental health, and navigating challenges in the digital age.
A special thank you to Ms Olivia Kite, Director of Wellbeing, for her leadership in organising the event, and to the dedicated team of activity coordinators and staff who made the day such a valuable experience for our students.
