Principal's message

Congratulations
PSSA provides a wonderful opportunity for students to excel in the area of sport while representing the school with pride. It has been a privilege to witness the growth in skill of our teams as Season 1 progressed. A huge thank you to our teachers who dedicate their time to coaching and developing the students.
On Friday we had four teams representing Peakhurst PPS in the PSSA Finals.
- Mrs Shing's Newcomb Ball Junior and Senior teams played at Mortdale PS. While both teams went into the finals with confidence and high spirits, it was unfortunate our senior team had a tough semi-final and placed fourth overall. Our Juniors had more success with winning their semi-final which saw them winning the grand finals taking away the premiership.
- Miss Rampoldi's Senior Girls OzTag team played at Peakhurst Park, and went into the finals placed in fourth position. In their semi-final they beat the team first on the ladder to qualify for the final. Unfortunately the grand final didn't go their way and they finished as runners up.
- Mrs Ratcliff's Senior Girls Basketball team played at Olds Park in a nail biter semi-final. The girls played well but unfortunately didn't get the win. The team put in a gallant effort in the last game and placed 4th overall.
Planning Days
During Week's 9 and 10, teachers will be engaging in Planning Days for Term 3. These days provide teachers the opportunity to review syllabus outcomes, plan for assessment of, for and as learning and the teaching and learning sequence to drive success in Term 3. Collaboration between teachers provides consistency and strength across the school and ensures that best practice is identified and shared across classrooms.
Learning Walks and Talks
During Tuesday 24th June, teachers will engage in Learning Walks and Talks to collect data aligned with the impact of explicit teaching in Number.
Learning Walks and Talks is when a group of teachers visit multiple classrooms with the aim of fostering conversation about teaching and learning in order to develop a shared vision of high quality teaching that impacts on student learning. It is a strategy PPS has embedded in its systematic process since 2023 to collect data aligned with the impact of explicit teaching on student outcomes.
PPS Online Safety Hub
To support community in education and advice aligned to Online Safety for children, ySafe has provided PPS this resource to empower the adults in providing support in this area. This will remain available to the staff and community of Peakhurst PS until April 2026. Please save this link as a Favourites Tab on your device to access when you need.
