Notes

SGSSA Athletics

The timetable for the Athletics next Tuesday have been sent home tonight with the participating students.  Hopefully all children are organised for transportation. If not, please contact school as soon as possible.  Tuesday's weather forecast is, mostly sunny 25 degrees.  Please remember to bring lots of drink, hat, sunscreen, lunch, snacks etc and wear your Cavendish PS sports uniform.  We are still looking for some helpers for the long jump pit. Maybe while your child is on that event you could help out?  Please let Kate know if you can help.

IPads

A big thank you to Parents Club who have supplied five new IPads for school from their fundraising efforts. These will be put to good use by the students!

Thank you Bunnings

Bunnings in Hamilton have generously donated a new BBQ to our school.  They also donated some paint for our Year 6 poles last year.  We thank Bunnings for their generosity and their support of our school.

Harmony Day

Today the students came dressed in their orange to celebrate Harmony Day.  It's a day to recognize Australia's cultural diversity and the benefits it brings to the community.  The students did activities throughout the day focusing on the theme 'Everyone Belongs'.

Split System Installation

We have today had a new split system installed by Finchetts in our Library/Foyer area. This will hopefully be hooked up next week so we can start using it.  We are looking forward to not freezing in Winter and sweating in Summer!

Annual General Meeting

On Wednesday night we held our School Council AGM.  We are pleased to announce the 2025 Council members are:-

President - Tim Huf

Vice President - Carly Behncke

Secretary - Amy Gray

Treasurer - Jodie Young

Members - Rick Luhrs, Ben Cross, Sharee Butler, Jess Porter and Brent Reed

Welcome and thank you to Jodie Young and Brent Reed for agreeing to come on board.

We would like to sincerely thank our outgoing members Simon Thomas and Nikaila Glenn. Simon has been a wonderful member of Council and has always been on the front foot in organising things to be done and has always been willing to help out when needed and getting those little annoying jobs done.

Nikaila has been on our Council for around 12-13 years. She has stayed on as a Community Co-opted member since her youngest child left school in 2018.  We have appreciated Nikaila's willingness to stay on the Committee and have valued her input over the years.

Mrs Steele has had a full week of training and meetings.  Due to this, she hasn't been at school much this week so I have done the newsletter for her.  If I have missed anything I am sure she will send out a note next week.

Have a good weekend everyone.
