Year 3 Australian Wildlife Incursion

Year 3 Wildlife Incursion with Andrew Wegner

On Tuesday the 25th of February we went to the Wildlife Incursion. I was very excited! When we were there, I got to hold a blue tongue lizard, and I touched a green tree frog. We also saw a bearded dragon and a snake. When we were looking around while someone was holding the blue tongue lizard it pooed on their shoes and Andrew had to clean it up. I had an amazing time because I had so much fun learning about wildlife.

On Tuesday, the year 3’s went to the Wentworth Building. Andrew Wegener was there to teach us about wildlife. He taught us that some animals are endangered. Firstly, Andrew told us that some animals are endangered so we need to look after our wildlife. Secondly, we got to walk around the room. We even got to have a snake around our neck. After that we got to pat some lizards and some lizards sat on our shoulders. Next, we got to pat a turtle. We had to hold it as a sandwich and it was practising swimming. Lastly, we got to pat the green tree frog. It was very slimy. I had a wonderful time learning about wildlife.

On Tuesday, Year 3 went to the Wentworth Building and saw cool reptiles. First, we saw a blue tongue lizard. It put his tongue out. Next, we saw a bearded dragon. His beard looked spiky, but it was actually soft. Then we looked at a green slimy frog. It was the green tree frog. After that, we saw a turtle! It was so cute; I loved the turtle. Last, but not least, we saw a woma python. It went on my neck. My favourite reptile was the snake. I loved seeing all the reptiles, I hope I can see more reptiles soon.

On Tuesday we went to the Wentworth Building to see a lot of dead and alive animals. Firstly, we a woma python, green tree frog, bearded dragon and a blue tongue lizard. Next, I got to pat the green tree frog and the blue tongue lizard, but I got to hug the bearded dragon and hold the woma python. Then, we looked at the dead animals. The dead bat was hung upside down because it was a bat. Finally, we saw the freshwater turtle that I got to hold but it was trying to kick my hands. I had a wonderful day learning about endangered animals.
