SCHOOL CANTEEN

Dear School Families,

We are just wanting to let you know that KingWill Catering will be taking an extended break during the upcoming term holidays.

Lunch orders will finish on your regular ordering days during the last week of Term 1, however there will be no orders on Friday 4th April. Lunch orders will start again on Monday 28th April.

We wish you all a fun and restful break, and we look forward to feeding your children again on returning in Term 2.

Thank you for your support.

Regards Nicole and Jo

Gates Opening and Closing Time before and after school

A gentle reminder that the school gates open at 8:30am on Newcastle St and close at the end of the school day at 3.25pm. We kindly ask that students enter the gate they are dropped at at the start of the school day and make their way straight to the classroom.

We also kindly ask that you make your way to the gates just prior to the gates closing. Gate duty for staff on gates concludes at 3.25pm. Also, if parents/carers are giving their child time on the adventure playground or other parts of the yard, please ensure they are fully supervised by the parents as this is not part of afterschool duty for staff.

HEAD LICE

Head lice have been identified in some year levels.

Whilst your child may not be affected, head lice are extremely contagious. To quickly resolve the problem we are asking all parents to inspect their child’s hair and scalp and take a few precautions against spread.

We suggest you look for the following symptoms or signs, which would indicate the presence of head lice:

General: Child scratching his/her head excessively. .

On pillow: Fine black powder or paler coloured material. .

In the hair: “Nits”, the lice eggs, seen as cream to coffee coloured specks as big as a pinhead stuck near the hair roots.

If you notice any of the above signs you will need to treat the child’s hair immediately. It is also a good idea to check all other members of the family. If you need further advice please contact your local council or pharmacist.

PARKING

Council has received concerns from residents of multi-unit developments at 29 Schutt Street, regarding difficulties in securing space for bin collection due to park vehicles on Thursdays.

To address this issue, Council will be installing a "No Stopping" restriction on the west side of 29 Schutt Street, which will be in effect between 6:00am and 11:00am on Thursdays.

Please note:  parking permits will not be available for this restriction.

Prep Enrolments Open for 2026

We are now taking enrolment applications for Prep 2026. If you are an existing family and have a child starting Prep next year, you are strongly encouraged to complete the application early. In 2025, we had more applications than enrolments we were able to accept and, whilst siblings are a priority, knowing available places early will assist us greatly.

You can now apply online by clicking on the link here.
