eSafety – Stay Informed
In our increasingly technological age, it is becoming progressively more difficult to keep up to date with online safety for families. Understanding the world of the internet and social media is imperative and keeping up to date can be very difficult within the busy lives that we all lead. However, being proactive means being as up to date as possible with information regarding online regulations and laws.
One site that can assist students, parents, guardians and extended families is the e-Safety Commissioner. The e-Safety Commissioner was first established in 2015 as the Children's e-Safety Commissioner. The eSafety website is a great resource that supports individuals and promotes online safety for all, this is a good resource for students parents and supports all Australians with a wide range of eSafety information.
This is an easy-to-follow site which is found at: https://www.esafety.gov.au/
The information bar at the top allows you to narrow down the information you are interested in. From this home page you can seek information about anything esafety related including bullying, being pressured to send inappropriate messages, online gaming to social media use and abuse.
The information is clearly presented, and it provides suggestions for what to do if you find yourself in a difficult situation. I highly recommend this site for parents, students and, well, just about online users.
