There are a lot of new things happening in the Technologies space at the start of 2025. The STEM room has been relocated into the high school and redesigned into a grand makerspace. Students now have a lot of open space to create and collaborate. With the walls lined with whiteboards, students can write their design notes and quick sketches without having to search for the nearest piece of paper. Students can also find crafty resources in our new storage bins. If students cannot find what they need, why not print it with our two new 3D printers. It is exciting to think what our young engineers and designers are going to make in this space.

The CAD room has also seen an update and the addition of nine new Bambu Lab 3D printers. The 7/8 School of Design students have already taken advantage of this, each printing a spiral fidget toy. The 9/10 Design in Graphics students have been printing personalised name tags.

Students from last year’s Soft Sculptures class made teddies to donate to the children's ward as a part of a community reachout project. The teddies were delivered early this year and were greatly appreciated/thankfully received by the nurses. There has also been a request from Tasmanian Police for students to make some trauma teddies for the children that come into their services. It's great to see the students' personal passions put into action by helping others in our community.
