During the past few weeks in Music, the Foundation and Year 1 students have been exploring using percussion instruments that we can tap or scrape to make sounds with - 

the claves or tapping sticks and also frog guiros.

As well as learning an action song and dance about Friends. We also used the parachute this week to practice beat and listening to directions within a song. It was lots of fun!

And in very exciting news - students in Year 2 to Year 6 have begun playing a range of drama games, as well as improving matching the pitch of sounds and music as well as focusing on singing in unison. 

This has been to set the scene for our school production - a musical which will be our focus for Term Two. Students have been excited to learn more about the process of putting on a musical and have really enjoyed the different drama games they have undertaken so far - more details to come next week and early next term!
