Year 7 Community Day

MCC Year 7 Community Day - Don't Be Afraid, Be a Friend

The Year 7 Community Day was an exciting and meaningful event that brought together students and staff in a celebration of teamwork, fun, and reflection. Students participated in a variety of engaging activities designed to foster camaraderie, collaboration, and a sense of belonging.   The theme for this Years Community was Don't Be Afraid, Be a Friend.  The day was filled with energetic games, water activities, and concluded with a reflective liturgy, making it an unforgettable experience for everyone involved.

To kick off the day, students gathered in the hall for a series of lively games. These activities not only encouraged friendly competition but also helped students build stronger bonds with their peers. It was a great opportunity for Year 7 students to showcase their teamwork and communication skills in a fun and supportive environment. Whether participating in group challenges or cheering on friends, the atmosphere was full of excitement and laughter.

After the indoor games, students made their way to the oval, where they joined with the Peer Support Leaders for a refreshing series of water activities. With the sun shining, the water games were a welcome break, offering students a chance to cool off and work together in teams. The Peer Support Leaders played an essential role, guiding and encouraging the Year 7s as they participated in activities designed to promote teamwork, trust, and a sense of community.

To wrap up the day, the students gathered for a beautiful liturgy that allowed them to reflect on the day’s activities and the lessons learned. The liturgy served as a reminder of the importance of community, gratitude, and the values that bring everyone together. It was a peaceful and spiritual way to conclude a day filled with energy and enthusiasm.

Year 7 Community Day was a success in every sense of the word. Students were able to bond with their peers, create lasting memories, and reflect on the significance of community and togetherness. Events like these are a wonderful way to nurture school spirit and ensure that all students feel connected to each other and to the broader school community.
