Principal News - Term 1 Week 5

Successful swimmers 

Last Friday our awesome swimmers placed first in the district swimming carnival. We are very glad to have the shield back where we think it belongs!  Several of the students have qualified for division and will be progressing to represent our school at the event. It is obvious below that it feels great to be number 1.

Student Leadership Presentation

This afternoon we will be presenting a variety of student leadership badges at our assembly. Over the years we have expanded our leadership roles for students which has enabled students to have the experience our leading others in an area of passion. Next Friday we will be presenting some additional badges. These are new roles and we currently have customised badges in production for next week’s assembly . 

Student illness

Over the past week we have noticed an increase in the number of students with tummy bugs and other illnesses presenting at the first aid room. We understand that sometimes the symptoms don’t present at home, and it is a surprise when we need to call you to ask you to collect your child. On occasions when your child has presented to you with symptoms, we ask that you consider keeping them at home to minimise the spread of the illness to others.

Leadership Update

As I communicated to all families yesterday, my co principal David Foley will be taking medical leave until the end of term 2. We wish him all the best for a speedy recovery and look forward to his return in term 3.

School Photo Day

Next Tuesday is our school photo day. This is one day in the year when school uniform is very important and enhances the class photos and is appreciated by all. Families have until March 14th to order. Special group photos including graduation and the whole school photos will be taken later in the year.
