Kids Corner

The “Kids’ Corner” section of our school newsletter provides the opportunity for the children to showcase their talents or communicate something special. 

This fortnight, Theo, (Year 4) is sharing the speech in which he communicated at Monday’s assembly. 

Good morning Mr Catalano, teachers, parents, students and my fellow peers. My name is Theo from 4B. Wow, what an incredible moment this is. Winning VSSS Audition is not an easy victory! It is power of commitment, passion and hard work. 

First, I want to thank Mr Catalano and Miss Cecconello for the given oppoertunity by selecting myself for VSSS 2024. That was my first step of this journey. Last year Mr Catalano had sent Compass message regarding VSSS 2025 application for indivudual auditions. That's how my parents applied for VSSS 2025. 

Music has always been my greatest passion. I started singing since i was 4 years old. My mum was my guidance and my voice trainer, because she is a singer and a theatre actress in Sri Lanka. 

VSSS 2025 audition's was tough. I had to choose two songs. One film song and one pop song. I have selcted "Singing in the rain" by Gene Kelly. I will sing 2 lines now....................................... 

Second was Michael Jackson's "Earth Song" i am going to sing that song after thje speech. Every audition was challenging. Especially 2nd and 3rd auditions. 

As my mum says, " keep believing in yur talent and your voice, becuase the world needs your music". Do believe in yourself and go for it, this is just the beginning, and i can't wait to see where this journey takes me next. Thank you!
