Volunteer Program and WWCC Clarifications
Thank you to all our parents who attended our first Holy Family Volunteer session for 2025. These sessions are repeated throughout the year and always before a big school event. With the new mandatory processes from CSBB, we would like to clarify the steps and requirements. It has taken us some time to get used to also!
The CSBB Contractor and Volunteer Engagement Form is MANDATORY for all adults who engage in a paid or volunteer role in all CSBB schools. Information from this form will go directly onto the CSBB working with children portal. This is the portal that we use to check if adults/volunteers can come on site or engage in an event as a volunteer.
As you complete the form, you will be asked if you are engaging in paid or volunteer work on site. It will also ask if you are a relative of someone at the school and will ask you to choose the name of the school.
If you are a volunteer with a relative on site, you will not be asked to provide evidence of a Working with Children Check. This is not necessary as you are working within your family community school.
A Working with Children Check is a useful document for a range of other situations such as sport and other activities so if you wish to look into this, please look at the online Service NSW site.
Family Fridays
Every Friday morning family members are invited to join their child on the playground. If you child is in Year 3-6 you may like to join run club on the grass with Mr Clarke or stay on the top playground with the younger students. Can you beat your child in handball?
Return and Earn - Thursdays
Each Thursday morning our wonderful Green Team (more to come on their initiatives!) helps to collect plastic and glass for our Return and Earn bin. This wonderful group has helped collect over $500 so far for plants that will help green our school environment. The magnolia trees planted down the side of the bottom playground are a direct result of our Return and Earn efforts. Please remember to send your child with suitable plastics each Thursday. The bin will be near the drive through however you can send items in any day to contribute.
Have a lovely weekend.
