R.E. NEWS
First Confession Information
Enrolment: For those of you who have not enrolled in the sacrament, you mustattend a Mass this weekend (Saturday - 5.30pm, Sunday - 9.00am or 5.30pm) to enrol. Please let Father Roel know you are there to enrol, so he can pass the information on to the school.
Tuesday 18th March: Sacrament of Reconciliation 4.00pm, Mary Help of Christians Church. Please consent and pay via Compass by Tuesday 4th March.
Important: Please consent or decline this event on Compass so we can finalise numbers.
Ash Wednesday
Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of the season of Lent. There will be a School Mass (Years 1 - 6) on Wednesday 5th March at 9.30am. Parents are most welcome to join us to receive the ashes and pray with us.
Please do not park in the Primary Bus Bay, so the Infants’ children can disembark safely. Thank you.
There will be a Kindergarten Ash Wednesday Liturgy at 11.45am at the Infants Campus. Kinder teachers and students will attend.
Parish News - RCIA
Would you, or someone you know like to learn more about our Catholic faith and its traditions? We are inviting those who would like to become a member of our faith community, or just learn or understand more about our faith, to join our RCIA Group that will meet each Monday at 5.00pm over coming weeks. Please indicate your interest by emailing southtamworthparish@armidale.catholic.org.au or ccd@armidale.catholic.org.au with your name and contact number so that we may contact you with further details.
LIBRARY
Author in Residence
This week our Year 3 and 4 students were so lucky to have a local author Jackie Graham visit them during their library sessions. Jackie has just published the second series of her Cottonwood Adventures book series. Our primary library is lucky to have all 20 of Jackie's books available for students to borrow. Jackie's Books are also available for purchase online at https://cottonwoodadventures.com.au/ or Collins Booksellers.
NSW Premier's Reading Challenge
We are very excited to give the students at St Edward’s Primary School the opportunity to participate in the 2025 NSW Premier’s Reading Challenge. This is a proud tradition at St Edward’s and every student is invited wholeheartedly to participate.
Every student at the Infants Campus will automatically be signed up to the challenge and read books from the challenge as part of their class and library sessions.
Primary students wanting to participate in this year challenge will need to see Mrs Michell in the library to sign up.
Login details will be handed out to all primary students who are participating in this years challenge. If your child has not received their login details, please ask them to come and see Mrs Michell in the library or email cmichell@arm.catholic.edu.au
Students can start logging their books today using this link

Students are encouraged to log onto the PRC website from home to log their books or Mrs Michell can log them in the library. Students should now start to log books they have read and also discover books that are part of the PRC using the link above. If you have any problems with logging books or access please reach out.
The Challenge runs until Friday 22nd August, 2025. Students can join at any time but the end date remains the same.
PLEASE NOTE!! Any books on the list that your child has read (or you have read to your child for K - 2) over the summer holidays can be counted for this year’s Challenge.
