Literacy
‘Bamboozled’ was our main picture story book last week and quickly became a class favourite. Students loved looking at the pictures and finding everything that was unusual in the house. We then drew pictures about what our classroom would look like if it was ‘bamboozled’ and we counted how many items were out of place.
For Writing, students have been learning to construct their own narratives with a picture prompt. They have developed their own stories about a girl and a dragon.
Maths
Last week in Maths, we introduced our students to skip counting, using calculators. We put masking tape on our tables to create numbers lines and we practised skip counting forwards and backwards by different numbers. We use our large number mat and have to work together as a whole class, putting the numbers in their correct position.
Integrated Studies
For History lessons, students have been learning about the past and comparing life in the past to the present day. Students read a book about school in the past and learnt what tools students wrote with in the past.
Students then had a go writing with feather quills and coloured ink. They also made their own paper feathers to take home.
Students are nominated by their teachers to receive a certificate of acknowledgment. The below student's certificates will be presented at our next assembly.
