Year 7 BYOD Program Rollout – Week 4
The rollout of the Year 7 BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) program will commence in Week 4. This will give us time to prepare our students for the upcoming NAPLAN assessments in Week 7, which will take place online. The schedule for the rollout is as follows:
Monday, 17th (Periods 3-6): Classes 7Y and 7W in the hall
Tuesday, 18th (Periods 3-6): Classes 7B, 7R, and 7G in the hall
Students are to leave their devices at home until the day of their orientation. If your child is absent on the day of their orientation, please email Miss Bayliss to be added to another group later in the week.

The Importance of Wired Headphones for NAPLAN
As we approach Week 7, our students are gearing up for the National Assessment Program – Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN). This is a crucial time for our school community, and we want to ensure that every student is fully prepared to perform their best. One essential item that can significantly impact their testing experience is a set of wired headphones.
Why Wired Headphones?
Reliability: Wired headphones are less likely to encounter connectivity issues compared to wireless ones. During NAPLAN, it's vital that students can focus on their tests without worrying about technical glitches.
Battery Life: Unlike wireless headphones, wired headphones do not rely on batteries. This eliminates the risk of headphones dying in the middle of a test, which can be both distracting and stressful for students.
Sound Quality: Wired headphones generally provide better sound quality, which is crucial for listening comprehension sections. Clear audio can make a significant difference in understanding and responding to questions accurately.
Preparing for NAPLAN
To ensure your child is ready for NAPLAN, please make sure they have a set of wired headphones packed and tested before Term 1 Week 7. Here are a few tips:
Check Compatibility: Test the headphones with the device your child will be using to ensure they work properly.
Comfort: Make sure the headphones are comfortable for extended use. Uncomfortable headphones can be a distraction during the test.
Labelling: Label the headphones with your child's name to avoid mix-ups or losses.
By taking these simple steps, we can help create a smooth and stress-free testing environment for our students. Let's work together to support our children in achieving their best during NAPLAN Week.
Thank you for your cooperation and support.
Best regards,
