Get Ready for Our Magical Production of Shrek Jr, The Musical!

We are thrilled to announce our upcoming whole-school production of Shrek Jr, The Musical, set to take the stage in Term 4! This exciting performance will bring the magic of fairytales to life as our students step into the world of Shrek, Fiona, Donkey, and a host of beloved characters.

As part of this journey, our students will explore the wonders of theatre, develop their performance skills, and learn about non-naturalistic performance styles. They will also delve into characterisation and the storytelling traditions of fairytales. This promises to be an incredible learning experience, sparking creativity and confidence in all who take part.

For our aspiring stars in Years 5 and 6, auditions will take place in Week 5. This is a fantastic opportunity for students to showcase their talents and take on lead roles in this spectacular production.

Of course, staging a production of this magnitude requires a team effort—many hands make light work! There will be plenty of opportunities for parents, carers, and family members to get involved, whether it’s helping with costumes, set design, props, backstage support, or other essential roles. More information will be shared soon on how you can lend a hand and be part of this exciting event.

Mark your calendars and save the dates. Wednesday 8th and Thursday 9th October, the curtain will open at the Besen Centre, Burwood.
