Science

From Georgie M, Science Teacher
Preps
We have been learning all about weather. At the start of each science lesson we record the weather for the day using a class chart. We even made our own weather wheels, so we can record the weather at home.
This photo is of an experiment we did showing what the weather looks like when it rains. We used a glass jar, shaving foam, water & blue food dye.
Year 1
We have been learning all about soil. We used magnifying glasses to look at some loam, sand and clay. We found lots of different sized particles in the soil. We even found animal poo in some of the soil!
Year 2
Our science lessons have been all about water. Did you know that most of the water on earth is salt water. In fact, only 2.5% of the water on earth is fresh water! We did an activity where we learnt just how much of the earth’s water is salty, and we realised just how precious fresh water is. It was a great activity for a hot day at school.
