Cooking, Reading, Writing!
Year Four has had another busy week with Cooking, responding to our amazing class novel, The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane and doing lots of writing!!!
Cooking
In Cooking, we made delicious focaccia with lashes of butter which melted beautifully over the hot bread. Everyone went back for thirds!!!
Writing
In Writing, we focused on describing one small moment from our holidays in great detail. Here are some examples:

The colours and shapes glided and swished in the crystal-clear water that could be seen from Space. For the first time ever, I pulled on a pair of snorkels and plunged into the water. Immediately, I was shocked. Glistening and shimmering under me were the most amazingly coloured corals shaped in twists and covered in spikes. Colours popped out of nowhere and as I saw more and more fish, a frog of excitement leaped around in my stomach, encouraging me to swim deeper in the Great Barrier Reef.

I stared out at the dark sky. The silver moon hung there like a giant lamp. Suddenly, there was a piercing noise and explosions of colour filled the sky. They shone in the darkness, even brighter than the stars. The iridescent light lit up the pitch-black sky like a thousand lanterns. The display was so elegant that I wished I could freeze in the moment forever. No words could capture how exhilarated I felt as the show before me played out. I felt a sudden excitement fill me and soon the fireworks were coming from not one, but three directions!! I can’t wait to see the fireworks again next year.

We made a door display depicting the ideas that learning is like climbing a mountain. It has its challenges, its ups and downs but when you put in the effort, you get results!
