Junior School Sport

Mr Matt Campbell, Junior School Sport Co-ordinator

As we bid farewell to the winter season, it's time to look back at the exciting journey we've had in our various sports programs. Our young athletes have displayed outstanding talent, sportsmanship, and dedication throughout the season. Let's dive right into the highlights!

Hockey - Roaring to Victory

Our KWS Lions hockey team has left an indelible mark on this year's season. In a nail-biting Grand Final showdown against Ex-Servies, our Lions emerged victorious with a convincing win. Willa Dunlop, was deservedly crowned the Player of the Whole Competition, thanks to her incredible goal-scoring prowess. Additionally, a shout-out to Digby McGee, who shone brightly by winning the Player of the Tournament in the Open Primary Full Field competition. KWS Hockey is scaling new heights, and this success is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our coaching staff, including Mr. Whitehead, Mrs. Fatai, Mrs. Essex, Miss Sleeman, and Miss Hazelton. Your efforts are truly appreciated!

Netball - U11 Girls' Remarkable Journey

Our U11 Girls' netball team gave it their all in a hard-fought final, narrowly missing out on taking home the championship. Their journey to the final was nothing short of inspiring, and they did KWS proud with their unwavering effort and sportsmanship. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Kristin Zinga and Miss Boland for their exceptional efforts in coaching and nurturing these young talents. Special thanks to Mrs. Seedsman for her outstanding work with our Net Set Go girls, who had a blast learning essential netball skills.

Soccer - Striking Success

While our KWS Strikers soccer team came up just short in a thrilling semi-final, they've had a remarkable season. Their journey showcases the significant strides our soccer program has made this year. Across all teams - Roar, United, Jets, and Strikers - we've witnessed exceptional improvements, and we couldn't be prouder of our soccer family. The future looks incredibly promising for each of our players, and we can't wait to see them continue to shine. I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to all our coaches and support staff who played a pivotal role in making this season a resounding success.

As we transition into the next sporting season, let's carry the spirit of camaraderie, determination, and sportsmanship that define KWS Junior School sports. We look forward to cheering on our young athletes as they continue to grow and excel in their respective fields.
