From the Principal

2024 Prefect Commissioning Service  |

Welcome back to Term 4. This term we have welcomed nine new students including five Little Wollies and six new staff. Ms Nichola Jobson who has recently arrived from New Zealand, is our new School Counsellor. Mrs Imogen Cain, a graduate teacher, will take Sheree Zecca's class for the term, whilst she is performing higher duties as Years 3-6 Coordinator. Mrs Kate Campbell, most recently from Aranmore Catholic College has joined the English Department for the term, replacing Irene Terpon who is on leave. Education Assistants Mrs Rebecca Dwyer, Miss Ashlee Howard and Mrs Sarah Leggatt have joined the staff this term covering staff on leave. I look forward to the contribution that our new students and staff will make to our school community.

With the absence of our Head of Primary Tracey Rogers this term, Fiona Shand has stepped into the role. She will be ably supported by Glyn Teape as A/Deputy Head of Primary. In the Secondary, Amanda Lin continues as A/Head of The Arts and Zoe Lourenco is A/Head of English covering for Irene Terpon. Lonneke Evans will lead the Health and Physical Education Department from mid- term when Jess Brown commences Parental Leave.

The first fortnight of Term 4 focuses on the rite of passage of our Year 12s who participate in a range of ceremonial and celebratory events prior to leaving the School on Friday 20 October.

Last night the Valedictory Dinner for our Leavers and their parents was held at the Burswood on Swan Function Centre. A tasty buffet, river views and a lovely atmosphere made for a very special occasion. The Valedictory Reflections delivered by some of the students were entertaining and lighthearted.  The dinner celebration was a perfect lead into Valedictory Week.

This Wednesday saw the Commissioning of the 2024 Prefecture in the presence of Years 6-12 students, staff and parents. The outgoing leaders were acknowledged for their contribution to the School and presented the Prefect tie and badge to their successor.
