Student Reflection - Footy Colours Day
FOOTY COLOURS DAY
By Luca P
On the last day of term we had Footy Colours Day. It was the best day of the term, the reason why I say that is because of the terrific parade that opened the day.
This parade is played out to show people who you support in the AFL or in the NRL or whatever sport you like to watch, me personally, I go for Calrton and when the Carlton song came on people with terrific ball knowledge including me ran around the rectangle giving out high fives like we were running round the MCG!
After the parade we went back to our classrooms to enjoy some mindful colouring time Footy activities.
We then had a very delicious hot lunch from one of the school mums, Jen who gave up her own time to feed the students, which was really generous and we are very thankful.
After lunch we then had outside activities which consisted of, handball mini, drop punt to goal, hit the target and so on. We also had some very skilled helpers from the Prahran Football Club, they were very helpful and helped with setting up and also helping the Year 6 Sport Captains take control of the activity, we send our highest regards to the P.F.C for helping us and the school. We were all very grateful for all their help on the day!
To sum up the day in a word would be tiring, but also was so fun hanging out with mates but also trying to compete with them and beat them but overall I think that everyone had a great time. We also all raised money for the cancer foundation which was a whopping $685! A massive effort and a big thank you to everyone in donating to such a great cause.
We are also thankful for the teachers helping out getting the groups to the right station and many many more.
Sadly I won't have another experience with footy colours day but I’m glad others do!
