Welcome to Term 4!!
The Foundation children have lots of exciting things happening in Term 4. We currently at our Winton Wetlands Excursion and our visit to the Traffic School is coming up on the 18th October, when we will learn about road and bike safety. In Week 5 we begin our Swimming program which is always lots of fun going on the bus each day to the pool for our swimming lesson.
In Religious Ed we are learning all about all the different ways we can talk to God through prayer, liturgies, meditation and singing. We have made a class book of thank you prayers that we share each day during our morning prayer time.
In Literacy the children are keenly participating in our daily Sounds-Write sessions and beginning to write 4 and 5 letter words, which we are very proud of. It is pleasing to see the children's improvement with their reading and practising at home is definitely helping with this.
In Maths, we are consolidating our knowledge of numbers up to 20 and ordering these numbers quickly and proficiently. We are learning to read the names of all the numbers up to 20 and this is something we encourage the children to practise at home.
Our Inquiry topic this term is Creativity. During this unit will be looking at a variety of Fairy Tales including The Three Little Pigs, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Rupunzel and more. By exploring these fairy tales we will find ways of thinking creatively and begin to design and build a story of our own.
We are so proud of our Foundation children’s learning achievements so far this year and are looking forward to an exciting action packed term ahead, filled with adventures, fun and rich learning experiences.
