Congratulations to the Class of 2023 - Year 12 Vocational Major VCE

The St Bede's Spirit is in the air today as we celebrate together our Year 12 VCE Vocational Major students' final day at St Bede's College.

These students have made the most of their learning pathways and experiences, creating projects that leverage practical life and real-world skills they want to use throughout their careers.

Today's celebrations began with a hot breakfast cooked by the Year 12 VCE-VM students, followed by a Liturgy and awards presentation. Vocational Major Learning Leader, Mr Justin Shepherd shares his thoughts on these students' last day.

"It has been my privilege to work with the Year 12 VCE-VM students this year.

They have proven themselves to be mature, thoughtful and considerate, and have grown into capable young people who will enter the next phase of life with a sense of purpose and achievement.

While I have no doubt there will be more challenges ahead, I know they will be able to overcome these obstacles using the skills and talents they’ve developed over the years.

They have worked extremely hard, they've balanced their time between school, TAFE and work for the past two years. And they're heading off as prepared as they can be for the outside world.

These students have been ably supported and encouraged by a dedicated team over the journey - through their families, their peers and their teachers - all of us who are who are proud of their achievements. We wish them every success as they embark upon the next stage of their lives."

We look forward to welcoming these students back for the Year 12 Graduation Breakfast, and College Assembly on October 13, and at the Graduation Mass and Valete on October 17. It has been a joy to see them thrive and wish them every success!

Year 12 VCE Students

Students undertaking an Ungraded VCE finish their classes tomorrow, Friday 15 September (provided they have met all of their VCE Outcome requirements).

We encourage these students to confirm with their teachers whether they're required to submit any further work.

Students undertaking VCE exams in October and November are busily preparing for trial exams taking place over the holiday break. We wish all of them the best during this period.

All Unit 4 VCE classes will conclude on Friday 13 October.

Thank you

We give thanks to all those who have given so much to our College throughout this term. I pray that our students, their families and our staff enjoy some time to rest and recuperate over the break, and time to reflect on and celebrate all that's been achieved.

Thanks to you all for your gifts of energy, care and commitment you bring to our wonderful St Bede’s College community.

Have a wonderful break.

Greetings from the Holy Land

Principal Deb Frizza shares some of her experiences while on pilgrimage to Israel and Jordan, with a few Principals of Victorian Catholic Colleges.

"My tour highlights so far are being in the place where Jesus was born, lived and performed his miracles. It's wonderful to be sharing this experience with a group of amazing Principals (and some spouses) from other Victorian Catholic Schools.

The most surprising experience is the sense of history and strong spirituality felt across the pilgrimage. The numbers of pilgrims from so many different countries at each site.

Our visit to Bethlehem University, which was founded and run by Lasallian Brothers, and interaction with the Palestinian students and their stories is something I very much look forward to sharing with our College Community upon my return."
