Creating Futures Together

We’ve arrived at the end of another busy term! Some of our major highlights have been The Spongebob Musical, Stage Band achieving a Silver Shield at VSMF, and the Choir performing at Victoria Grange Retirement Village (see article by Tegan Okos below). It’s been great to see our students connecting with the wider community.

We also ran a successful Instrumental Assessment week last week, where all our instrumental students were assessed on their progress on their chosen instrument. Feedback from this assessment has been shared with students during their lessons this week. Congratulations to all of our students who have been involved in one or more of these events!

We have a number of events for Term 4 planned, including:

  • Year 7 Concert Band and Choir performing at local primary schools (Thursday 23rd November and Thursday 30th November)
  • Spring Concert (Monday November 27th at 7pm
  • Year 7 Band performing at VSMF (date TBA).

All of our Instrumental students will be involved in the Spring Concert, so please add this date to your calendar. Events will appear on Compass next term for students who are involved.

Payments for Term 4 Instrumental Lessons can now be made on Compass. We would ask that payments are made by the end of Week 4, Term 4.

CHOIR PERFORMANCE AT VICTORIA GRANGE

On the 7th of September, our school choir went to Victoria Grange Retirement Village to perform for the residents! We sang a total of 5 songs, which included ‘Raindrops Keep Fallin’ on my Head”, “Afterglow”, “Blame it on the Boogie”, “Can’t Buy me Love”, and “I am Australian”. We also had some amazing soloists that did an incredible job!

We all enjoyed our time, and it was an amazing experience. I'd like to thank Annie and Ms. Mechielsen for putting in a lot of time and effort towards choir, and of course the singers for their amazing attitude and persistence whilst learning the songs every week.
