Butterfly Adventures!

This term, our Year 1 and 2 community are learning about living things. They are learning that living things have needs in order to survive. Some of the key concepts they will cover about living things include:

  • Life cycles
  • Features
  • Habitats
  • Impact of the Environment

The students have been very excited about some special ‘visitors’ that have joined their community. Each class has received three chrysalis and a mesh cube. This is to learn about the life cycle of a butterfly.  We are hoping the chrysalis will hatch within the next week or so. The students’ have noticed that they are beginning to darken. This means that the butterfly is getting ready to hatch.

Each class has started a diary about their learning journey. They are carefully documenting each stage of the process. Check them out below.

We will keep you updated as to when the butterflies emerge!
