Playing in a music ensemble has many benefits for children, including developing social skills, building confidence and learning how to be a team player. Learning music helps cognitive development, improves recall and retention of verbal information, and advances Mathematics and English skills. Aside from this, playing in an ensemble is fun!

Parents who have expressed an interest in Musicianship Classes for their child will be contacted by the Performing Arts Office regarding times and commencement of classes.
Parents will be contacted directly by tutors in the coming week to organize lesson times. A schedule of ‘what’s on’ in Term 1 will be sent out from the JS Office – please read this carefully. It is the responsibility of parents to contact tutors directly if students will miss a lesson for any reason.
These programs have begun with great enthusiasm in both Year 1 and Year 4. We are looking forward to seeing how these students progress on their chosen instrument. Don’t forget to return Year 1 instrument hire forms! Year 4 will receive these later this week.
