Year 9 3D Art: Australian Native Birds

During our Transition Program, the  Year 9 3D Art class began creating caricatures of Australian native birds. They explored the natural characteristics of raku clay whilst modeling their individual birds. Once the birds were bisque fired, the students coloured their creations with underglazes before applying a clear glaze over the top. After the birds had their final glaze firing, the students glued their miniature artworks onto bamboo garden stakes ready for display.
