Reminders
Visiting the School
BNPS is a welcoming and shared community; however, as part of our Child Safe Policy and Process, all visitors to the school must report directly to the office upon arrival.
If you have an appointment, please sign in at the office on the iPad and collect a lanyard.
Picking up Students During the Day
If you have appointments or other reasons for collecting your child during the school day, please make sure you contact the classroom teacher via Seesaw or the office to make arrangements.
Parents are asked to come into the office to collect and sign out their students.
Family Finances - CSEF
Every Victorian child should have access to the world of learning opportunities that exist beyond the classroom. The Camps, Sports and Excursions Fund helps ensure that no student will miss out on the opportunity to join their classmates for important, educational and fun activities. It is part of making Victoria the Education State and the Government’s commitment to breaking the link between a student’s background and their outcomes. If you hold a valid means-tested concession card or are a temporary foster parent, you may be eligible for CSEF. A special consideration category also exists for asylum seeker and refugee families. The allowance is paid to the school to use towards expenses relating to camps, excursions or sporting activities for the benefit of your child. If you applied for CSEF last year, you do not need to complete an application form this year unless there has been a change in your family circumstances. You only need to complete an application form if any of the following changes have occurred:
- new student enrolments; your child has started or changed schools this year.
- changed family circumstances; such as a change of custody, change of name, concession card number, or new siblings commencing this year.
Please find attached the application form and parent information. Application forms are also available from the office.
Qkr! App
Have you downloaded the Qkr! App and do you know how to use it?
Please ensure you have downloaded the Qkr! App to your phone or laptop or computer. We use this app for may things during the year - like excursion/incursion payments, fundraising, voulentry contributions.
In the past, it has been difficult to download on some old android mobile phones but the system has been updated to enable it to down load to all devices trouble free.
Compass
Compass is the main communication between the school and families, so it is very important you understand how to use it. If you cannot log into Compass, please pop into the office with your mobile phone and we will be able to help you sort out your password and account access.
All teachers, parents and guardians have access, and it contains reports, community announcements, our newsletter and information about student attendance and excursions.
Using Compass allows you to access up-to-date and meaningful information about our school and your child's progress.
Student Absences
Students are expected to be at school every day. If your child is marked absent and we have not been notified, you will receive an SMS message to the nominated mobile phone at 10am. Please contact the school to verify your child's whereabouts.
Absences and Using Compass
Did you know that you can log your child's absence on Compass to save you calling the school?
The mornings are very busy and if you use Compass rather than calling, it will save time to report your child's absence. By entering your child's absence on Compass before 9:45am - you will stop the possibility of receiving an SMS regarding the absence. You can even add a future absence!
If you aren't sure how to do this Katrina or Fiona in the office are happy to show you and once you have done it a couple of times it will be quicker than phoning the school.
No Smoking Zone
Please be reminded that BNPS is a NON-SMOKING AREA and as such it is illegal to smoke within 4 meters of any gateway or entrance to the school grounds.
Please help keep our student community healthy and safe.
